Television actress Pratyusha Banerjee’s death on April 1 sent shockwaves across the nation but it seems like there’s no end to the controversies around her suicide.

Few days ago, Pratyusha’s close friend, actress Kamya Punjabi announced that she made a short film ‘Hum Kuchh Keh Naa Sakey’ featuring her late friend Pratyusha Banerjee which she will release on her first death anniversary.

Kamya had earlier said in a statement that the film bears resemblance to Pratyusha’s real life.  Now Pratyusha’s former boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh (who was booked in her suicide case) claims that Kamya is just trying to make money by using Pratyusha’s name.

In fact, Rahul has even filed a complaint with the police regarding the issue. Here is what it (the complaint) says:

“I lost my girlfriend last year on 1st April 2016. On 27/3/2017 I was shocked to read that Kamya Punjabi had given an interview and declared that she is releasing one short film based on the life of my girlfriend Pratyusha Banerjee, and she has portrayed my character in an abusive manner. Further, she has used my girlfriend Pratyusha’s old video as a new one,” Pinkvilla reported.

Kamya, on the other side, laughed off all Rahul’s allegations and clarified her stand on the subject: “It’s been produced by a friend, Neeru Nikhat. She called me a few days ago, and said that let’s do something about this movie, let’s release it online. And I was like yes, we should.”  She added, “Whatever we earn from this movie, I will be handing it all over to Pratyusha’s parents…People need to realise that it is okay to talk about your issues rather than going through them alone, I want people to know this.”

As far as Rahul’s complaint is concerned, Kamya says she couldn’t bother less. “I haven’t received any intimation from the police so far. I know for sure that it isn’t an FIR and just a hand written complaint. Whatever it is, my lawyers are dealing with it.”

The film will be releasing on the late actress’ first death anniversary on April 1, 2017.

Ace comedian Kapil Sharma, who is in the limelight owing to his nasty tussle with another comedian Sunil Grover, seems to be unaffected by his co-actor’s absence from ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.

Recently, the ace comedian was reportedly partying in Bikaner with his ‘Firangi’ co-star Monica Gill, and director Rajiv Dhingra.

The actor is currently shooting for the film which is his first home production.

If reports are to be believed then Kapil was staying at Gajner Palace in Bikaner for shooting ‘Firangi’. The makers of the film hired local singers by spending Rs 75 thousand for the party.

Kapil not only enjoyed the party but also danced his heart out. It was also being said that Kapil parties every day after the shoot gets over.

Monica is an American-Indian beauty queen and seems to have forged a friendly equation with Kapil.

Reports also being claimed that Kapil is talking big things about Sunil Grover and other colleagues. Even worse, he has been telling everyone on the sets of Firangi that Sunil Grover &Co. will return to the show because they need the money.

Kapil and Sunil reportedly had a fight as they were flying back with their team to Delhi from Australia after a show. Kapil got drunk, belittled Sunil and also physically assaulted him. Sharma apologised to him on Twitter.

Sara Gurpal, a rising Punjabi actress from Punjab arrived in Chandigarh on a program. She shared the experience of acting and life in the conversation. 

The young lady Sara was in Chandigarh to judge the Mr and Miss India Glamour 2017 that concluded on Sunday. Sara, who herself began her career as a model, recalls those days when just by chance, a photographer spotted her at a theater play rehearsal and later work with her for a fashion shoot.

Gurpal said that after this photo shoot, Confidence came in to me and I was involved in modeling. Become a part of the Beauty Pageant and won the Award of Miss Chandigarh in 2012.

After then her career went uphill. Filmmaker Karan Johar, who has become a father to twins Roohi and Yesh via surrogacy, says he wants his children to listen to Hindi film music that he has grown up listening to.

“I have grown up listening to lot of Hindi film music whether it is Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhosle among others. I want in their (twins’s) nursery; some of my favourite music should play all the time,” Karan told the media during the book launch of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan’s “Master on Masters”.

“So that my babies to listen to them because I love their song and they should listen what I love, to love me,” he added.

The 44-year-old filmmaker says he got the habit of listening to iconic playback singers and late rocker Elvis Presley from his mother Hiroo Johar.

“In fact I think my mother married my father because he promised to take her for an Elvis Presley show, which he did on their honeymoon!” he added.

The twins were born two months premature and were kept under close observation in the hospital, got discharged this afternoon and KJO was taking them back home. Karan became a dad to twins in February this year via surrogacy, and the filmmaker recently took to Twitter to share his happiness. And as a tribute to his parents, he has named his kids – Yash and Roohi.

Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee or shall we say, Ram and Sita, of Indian television, are a happily married couple. The two came in the limelight when they played the protagonists in ‘Ramayan’.

Everyone knows that Gurmeet and Debina got married in year 2011 but that it not the truth. Couple actually got married in year 2006 without their parents.

The much-in-love couple began dating in 2006 and married in the same year. The wedding ceremony was taken in complete secrecy.

While talking to Bollywoodlife.com, Gurmeet said “We told our families only a year and a half ago when we made a name for ourselves.”

He further added “A lot of people think that I and Debina met while filming for Ramayan, and then we got married in 2011. Very few know that when we were nothing, we weren’t actors, we were only looking for work – we were just 19 and 20 years old, we eloped and got married, in 2006. We did not tell our parents. Our friends helped us to get married at a temple in Goregaon.”

While giggling in between sentences, probably reminiscing the crazy time when he and Debina pulled this off, Gurmeet added,”You can see in the pictures that we both are very young. My best friend asked to make a serious face for the camera, or else I would look too young.” Well, he does look a little too young. But also a little angry? “Because I made a face too serious, I am looking like I am angry,” he revealed.

“We told our families only a year and a half ago, when we made a name for ourselves, people started recognizing us, and we had money, car and a house – then we got married again in 2011. But in that marriage we did not perform all the rituals. I did not come riding a horse or anything. On the same day, as that in 2006, we opted for a court marriage in 2011,” he said.

Further he added that their families had no reaction upon learning about their 2006 wedding, as the two were well-settled with their careers. “I believe they must have felt that we should have told them back in 2006 only so that they could also have been a part of our marriage rituals,” he said.

Talking about his wife Debina, Gurmeet said “Every parent wants that their daughter should marry a guy who is earning good, but when I was getting married I had nothing. I did not have a house, a car, or any money. All I had was Debina and her support. All I had was Debina’s trust in me that I will become someone one day. Such trust and belief is not shown by many,”

On the work front, Gurmeet will be seen in bollywood movie ‘Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana’.

The Thane Police on Tuesday issued a Non-bailable warrant has been issued by a special court against former Bollywood actress Mamta kulkarni and alleged international drug mafia Vijaygiri aka Vijay Goswami in a 2,000 Cr drug bust case.

The investigating officers claim to have gotten ‘clinching evidence’ against the duo, based on which they intend to file a chargesheet. The non-bailable warrants were issued by a special court led by H M patwardhan on Monday.

Both Kulkarni and Goswami are on the run ever since their names cropped up in the drug case.

On April 13, 2016, the police arrested two people with Ephedrine worth Rs12 lakh and later busted a racket that was worth Rs2,000 crore at a Avon Pharma Life Sciences Private Limited’s factory in Solapur. Till now, 14 people have been arrested in the case, while five accused are abroad, including Mamta Kulkarni.

Special public prosecutor Shishir Hiray, appearing for the prosecution, in a marathon submission to the special court sought the warrant, and informed the court that they have ample evidence against the duo and their involvement in the drug racket as a prime accused.

Hiray pointed out that based on the interrogation of arrested accused, Kulkarni and Goswami are main players in the case and they had set up a well-oiled drug cartel, right from procuring raw material of ephedrine from India and even planned transportation and manufacture of methamphetamine in Kenya.

The prosecutor told the court that the arrested accused, Jai Mukhi and Kishor Sinh Rathod, during the probe had mentioned a meeting in a hotel in Kenya, wherein a deal was struck between Goswami, his aides, the Akasha brothers, Mamta, former director of a pharma company, Manoj Jain, Jai Mukhi and Abdullah, were present. “Ample technical evidence, call records are in possession of the investigators and various facts have been revealed during questioning of the arrested accused and statements made by them,” Hiray told the court.

He pointed out that Mukhi’s version was coraborated by another accused, Kishorsinh Rathod, son of a former Congress MLA from Gujarat, who was arrested in January after nine months on the run.”They also had plans to make Mamta a director of Avon Life Sciences Pvt Ltd,” Hiray told the court.

The police, from time-to-time visited the addresses of Mamta and Goswami and even statements of people who knew them were recorded. Hiray produced a case diary for the court’s satisfaction too. Finally, the court on Monday issued the warrants against the duo.

Goswami is in US custody. In January, Goswami, Ibrahim and Baktash Akasha as well as Gulam Hussein were extradited from Kenya to the US.

Mamta’s involvement was refuted in September 2016  by a bunch of domestic and international lawyers.

Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar recently became a proud father to twins – Yash and Roohi.  However, the babies were born premature and were kept under close observation.

Today, Karan took to Twitter and wrote a message about the turmoil he underwent as the father and the care that needs to be given to premature babies.

He says, “…My children were born two months premature and worryingly underweight. Like any other person in this situation and on the brink of fatherhood, my heart sank.”

“Knowing that there were complications with my babies’ birth owing to how soon it was, I was terrified. All I wanted to do was hold them and protect them but they needed to be in the NICU. It was painful to see how tiny they were…” he goes on.

Addressing the issue of premature birth, he said, “As someone with a voice, I want to reach out. Million of preemies are born every year…but babies are resilient. With the right kind of care, they stand just as good a chance of survival as anybody else.”
